Manufacturing Engineer

Tempronics’ is a growth stage technology company that uses traditional solid-state thermoelectric elements (TECs) in an innovative new way and featuring distributed heating and cooling along a Tempronics’ Climate Ribbon.  Applications include automotive, motorcycle and commercial vehicle seats, bedding, cooling vests and a variety of other uses.  Tempronics growth is dependent on employing a dedicated team of talented individuals who want their efforts to have a positive impact on the company’s customers and partners.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluates, develops and implements manufacturing processes and process changes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

Job Duties

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and improving workflows, production times, and floor layouts
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information based on evaluations of production, labor, and material costs and production schedules
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods that guarantee adherence to standards or specifications
  • Develops and implements production procedures or work instructions to maintain process quality and efficiency
  • Develops and implements analytical tools to measure equipment and process capabilities
  • Prepares informative reports to highlight process or equipment status and trends
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
  • Designs and implements new equipment and fixturing based on manufacturing needs
  • Trains and guides technicians
  • Contributes to team effort by supporting other departments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics
  • Five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability
  • Communication (English desirable)
  • Experience in PFD, PFMEA and Control Plans (desirable)
  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and metrics
  • CAD Design (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft productivity software
  • Hardware (Arduino, NI, PLC, other)
